Hi! I design experiences online. I spend my time telling stories and bring micro surprises to my users. I share thoughts and articles about design and technology at @anthonycyl.
My Portfolio
HOBBEES
User Research, Content Strategy, Information Architecture, Wireframe, Prototype, User Testing
My partner and I started Hobbees with an idea of trying to help people in Hong Kong to discover interesting activities and workshops around the city.
I design the mobile app from concept to launch, from sketches to prototypes. I brought the prototype to merchants and users to get feedback and iterate our design to make it work for their needs.
The app is available for download on Google Play and App Store.
EMAIL APP REDESIGN
User Research, Content Strategy, Information Architecture, Wireframe, UI, Prototype, User Testing
As a final project of my user experience design course in General Assembly, I designed an Email app to make email processing simple and stress free.
The app is designed to solve existing pain points and elevate the user experience by optimizing the flow and prioritizing emails through social graph.

REDESIGNING TOWERBABEL HOMEPAGE
User Research, Content Strategy, Wireframe
The original homepage was designed with a focus on showcasing the indie books onsite. As the number of books grow, it is getting difficult to showcase all books by our members. We also need a better landing page to explain to visitors why they should be on Towerbabel.
The new design is to focus on introducing our product features to our readers with clear Call-To-Action buttons for writers to navigate to a separate landing page for more details.
I was responsible for redesigning the layout, information architecture and content strategy.
My Two Cents

Approach
No project should be treated the same but these are my favourites.
Off-Product Experiences
User experience design should not be limited to the product. Off-product experiences e.g. customer support, blog, emails, social media etc are equally important if not more to create satisfying experiences to your users.
Content First
Design is not only about how it looks. It is also about the message that we deliver. Content first design helps the team to align objectives and set the voice and tone for the product.
Say hello!
I'm always up for coffee if you happen to be in Hong Kong.
